Walkup Studio is looking for a Director of Brand Strategy who will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of day-to-day strategy for our clients’ accounts while being responsible for the leadership and strategic planning across a variety of clients.


 This is a role for someone who has 5 to 8 years of industry experience and is passionate about all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who excels in a fast-paced, versatile environment. Our team is hands on and growing quickly - we’re looking for someone to help us expand and refine our internal practices, who can also bring a fresh perspective to the table. This person must be someone who is interested in editorial, copywriting, curation, administration, photo research –– and can pick up on tedious details. We are looking for someone who is excited about social media and building brands.

 

Responsiblities

  • Be the strategic lead for clients, both internally and externally
    Set the tone for client meetings and presentations, while driving projects forward
  • Lead the team within client strategy sessions and client conference calls
  • Develop, review and approve calendars, pitches, recaps and other materials; approve activity reports, and other internal document
  • Execute and advise on digital strategies and develop strategic media plans
  • Establish, cultivate and maintain strong media relationships
  • Give appropriate feedback to team members and delegate account projects appropriately
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior-level staff on team issues, account workflow and general account issues
  • Adhere to deadlines, ensuring all projects are executed on time
  • Responding to client requests and ensuring they’re taken care of in an efficient manner
  • Supporting teams in managing complex client issues and see the client through stressful situations that will require thoughtful counsel.
  • Weekly client interaction to update, report and discuss the accounts
  • Guide junior staff members and oversee all client activity and press materials
  • Participate in the development of materials for new business opportunities including timelines, proposals, business decks and case studies; assist in generating new business leads
  • Be actively engaged and involved in growing our company culture; improving team morale, managing workload and contributing to the leadership as a whole 

 

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years Public Relations experience – agency experience preferred
  • Proven track record of media relations experience
  • Skilled at creating pitches, strategies and talking points
  • Experience in leading client relationships
  • Experience managing a team
  • Creative and energetic personality
  • Ability to think through communication strategies and deliver tangible results
  • Ability to write stylistically and shift writing styles based on client deliverables and internal meetings
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working across a variety of fields and clients

  • You will work closely with our founders and account coordinators to help upkeep the flow of work in the office.
  • Respond to all requests for information from your teammates, clients, and other employees in a respectful, timely, and professional way.
  • Coordinate all team and client meetings as assigned including scheduling dial-ins, calendar invites, locations, agendas and other tasks as needed.
  • Draft agendas and recaps for all client calls and meetings
  • Conduct media searches, audits and research for client projects.
  • Maintain records and organize photo archives.
  • Work with the team to build weekly/monthly status reports for clients.
  • Daily social media monitoring of your assigned accounts.

  • Research and identify upcoming events that your client and team members should be aware of for reasons such as: problems, conflicts, and opportunities.
  • Maintain organized files for your team and clients including mailing lists, contact sheets, and trade publications.
  • Assist in account administration duties such as expense and activity reports.
  • Draft agendas and recaps for all client calls and meetings
  • Last but not least, you are always learning about the digital media landscape, reading, and familiarizing yourself with client industries.
